Anagram

Image
An  anagram  is a word or phrase formed by rearranging the letters of a different word or phrase, typically using all the original letters exactly once.

Homonyms

Image
Homonyms are two or more words with the same spelling or pronunciation, but with different meanings. These words can sometimes be confusing, especially for children learning to spell them.

Phonetics

Image
Phonetics is defined as the branch of linguistics that studies the production and classification of human sounds. Phonetics pays special attention to the influence that vocal organs (such as the lips and tongue) have in the formation and annunciation of sounds. By understanding the sounds of English, you can recognize words more easily when you hear them.

Riddles

Riddles are an amusing and effective way to help you think in English and understand some of the subtleties of the English language. Try these ones out.

Never ending story

Image
Students form a circle (this can be as a whole class or in small groups). Write a sentence that could start a story, ideally incorporating vocabulary or grammar from the day's lesson. Give the sentence to the first student, who continues the story by writing the second sentence before she passes it to the next student, who continues. At the end of the circle, have a student read the completed story. It is sure to get a laugh!

Sound chain

Image
Sound chain is an easy way to review phonics and letter sounds. The whole class sits in a circle. One student says a word. The next student must say a word that starts with the last sound of the previous word. To make this more difficult, choose a topic or category for all the words: boy's names, animals, things found in a classroom, etc. Student 1: knife (ends with f sound) Student 2: food (begins with f sound; ends with d sound) Student 3: drinks (begins with d sound; ends with s sound) Student 4: soap (begins with s sound; ends with p sound) Student 5: pan (begins with p sound; ends with n sound) Continue around the circle until everyone has contributed or until you run out of words. For a variation, you could eliminate students when they can't think of a word and the final student playing is the winner.

Tongue Twisters

Image
A sentence or series of words that is hard to say correctly is called a tongue twister in English. Children love tongue twisters and challenge their friends to try to say them fast several times in row. For English learners, tongue twisters are a fun way to work on one or two sounds at a time to get the pronunciation just right. Start by saying the tongue twister slowly, then try to speed up. Once you can say a tongue twister through, try to say it twice or three times in a row for a bigger challenge.

Pictionary

Image
Pictionary is a guessing game in which players attempt to identify words from pictures drawn by other players. It offers numerous cognitive and social benefits for kids.

Debate

Image
Today we have conducted debate for the students under the topic " Is Social media Boon or Bane?".

Role Play

Image
Role-play is the act of imitating the character and behavior of someone who is different from yourself.             Regular practice with role plays can lead to improved speaking fluency. Students become more comfortable expressing themselves spontaneously in the target language, which is invaluable in real-world conversations.
