 World Drama Day Celebration


     To honour and celebrate the beauty and hard work of the overall theatrical production, International Theatre Institute (ITI) created World Theatre Day in 1962. This day aims to increase public understanding of the importance of theatre in our lives. 


      World Theatre Day promotes the importance of theatre to the public and encourages people to participate in theatre events. It serves as a reminder of the significant role that theatre plays in our communities, and how it contributes to our cultural heritage. 

   Overall, World Theatre Day is a celebration of the power of theatre and its ability to transform and enrich our lives. So today 27th March 2023 we the Student Teachers of Department of English, NVKSD College of Education, Attoor took initiative to make aware about the essentials of Theatre through a speech with quiz regarding Theatre day, PPT presentation about Theatre and a stage performance - a demo drama on the play "Doctor Faustus".

       

     I played the role of Mephistophils the servant of Lucifer. With the coordination and cooperation of my friends we performed the play in a better manner.

Sound chain

 Sound chain is an easy way to review phonics and letter sounds. The whole class sits in a circle. One student says a word. The next student must say a word that starts with the last sound of the previous word. To make this more difficult, choose a topic or category for all the words: boy's names, animals, things found in a classroom, etc. Student 1: knife (ends with f sound) Student 2: food (begins with f sound; ends with d sound) Student 3: drinks (begins with d sound; ends with s sound) Student 4: soap (begins with s sound; ends with p sound) Student 5: pan (begins with p sound; ends with n sound) Continue around the circle until everyone has contributed or until you run out of words. For a variation, you could eliminate students when they can't think of a word and the final student playing is the winner.
